Artist

I grew up in Montreal, Canada, where as a teen I had the privilege of being given opportunities to explore painting, which I quickly connected with, and particularly enjoyed learning about the impressionist art movement which later became woven into my artistic expression of beauty. However, I pursued arts as a hobby and a full-time studies and career in Building Structural engineering. As an engineer, it opened doors of opportunities for me to live and work abroad for over 13years in Dubai in Middle East and later in Copenhagen in Europe — including traveling to many countries in different regions I gained deep cross-cultural experiences shaping open-heartedness and compassionate character in approach to human experience.

My artistic voice was born in 2017, through a life-changing encounter with the Presence of God, in the Lord Jesus Christ. It was a moment of deep spiritual awakening — myself, my artworks, and outlook was touched and transformed with an awakened heart to the mercy and love of God. From that encounter, it's as if a wellspring of inspiration was released, and paintings began to flow from a soul deeply marked by grace, hope, and a vision of a renewed future.

Artworks

The oil paintings borrow inspiration from impressionism to knife-painting techniques, to build-up thick layered texture such as in the landscape pieces—bringing a tactile, almost sculptural quality to the artwork. Much like the Impressionist tradition, Bethel intentionally set avoidance of black tones and focus on capturing light, atmosphere, and mood over photographic realism. Instead of defined edges, her brush and knife work convey the emotional impression of a moment—inviting the viewer to feel rather than analyze.

Many of the color themes and compositions are inspired from presence of God and meditating in biblical descriptions of heavenly atmospheres—such as glory, purity, peace, and divine light. Therefore, each painting is a blend of imaginative meditation on Heaven, rooted in Scripture and testimony.

Vision

In a world overwhelmed by busyness, anxious of news, these paintings offer quiet spaces to reflect, breathe, and meditate on the divine beauty that lies beyond the visible. They are created not just to decorate, but to inspire—to usher a sense of sacred presence and peace into the environments they inhabit
